Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair (Hunter College Booth)

Summary

Under the leadership of Alva Mooses and together with Hunter College students Lisa Mason, Farwah Rizvi, and Farangiz Yusupova, we curated the Hunter College section of the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair at Powerhouse Arts in April 2026. Working closely with the Hunter College MFA printmaking students at Cornerpress, we showcased work centering temporality, queer identity, and immigration. Overall, the booth’s aim was to demonstrate the urgent questions Hunter College MFA students are grappling with in their coursework. Website here.

Speaking in Pairs

Summary

As a Curatorial Fellow for this show, I oversaw the operational and research logistics for a group of six Hunter College MA and MFA students. Speaking in Pairs featured images from an array of visual artists, including August Sander, Dawoud Bey, Graciela Iturbide, Marina Berio, and more. My curated section was a reinterpretation of August Sander’s Citizens of the 20th Century, translated to American history through images from the Farm Security Administration archives based on Sander’s chapters (Farmer, Woman, Artist, etc.). The show was up at the Leubsdorf Gallery from February 5-April 12, 2026. Website here.

Youth and Conformity in the Archive, Romania 1949-1989

Summary

This research and curatorial project featured images from online open-source photo archives in Romania. Created for João Pina’s Archival Photography class in 2023, I wanted to further explore youth culture under dictatorship to uncover tensions of strength and fragility, isolation and inclusion, individualism and conformity. Having spent one year abroad in high school in Iasi, Romania, I used this project to better understand the country’s history and culture, both for myself and external audiences.
